Join an evening of dancing to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Semi-formal or formal attire is strongly recommended. Free. RSVP.

Glow in the Dark Paint Night, Asser Levy Recreation Center – Kips Bay, 5pm – 9pm

Get ready to create a stunning masterpiece! Participants will use glow dark paint to bring out their creativity on a blank canvas. The theme for the evening is Valentine’s Day. Alphabet City chronicles the lives of three best friends as they battle their heroin addictions. Kenny, Floyd and Paloma are full of love for one another, but when one of them decides to change their life it throws a wrench in the group’s dynamic. Target First Saturdays, Brooklyn Museum, 5pm – 11pm

Brooklyn Museum hosts a day of free concerts, a dance festival, a film screening and panel discussions and a dance party in celebration of Black History. Music by The Skins, Latasha Alcindor and Aaron Abernathy. Panel discussions on Jean-Michel Baquiat and Malcolm X. Later in the night, Everyday People hosts a dance Party with performances from DJ mOma, Ian Isiah and Donae’O. Free.

The Circus and Sebastian, Westbeth Home to the Arts – West Village, 11am

A puppet ballet concieved and choreographed by Penny Jones to the rollicking music of Kabalevsky’s symphonic suite, The Comedians. The puppets look like giant Christmas toys come to life with The Nutcracker man as circus master. $10.
