Sit under the park’s London Plane trees and enjoy award-winning poetry by established and emerging poets throughout the summer. Featuring poets Amy Barone, Nausheen Eusuf, Jerome Sala and Daryl Sznyter. Free.

Stargazing, The High Line at 14th Street – Chelsea, 6:45pm – 9:30pm

Head to the High Line for a walk along the park and a chance to take a closer look at the stars. Peer through high-powered telescopes provided by members of the Amateur Astronomers Association of New York to see rare celestial sights. Free.

Dirty Little Secrets Improv Show, Niagara – East Village, May 15 (Tues.), 7:30pm – 9pm

Have an urge to get something off your chest but don’t feel comfortable paying $100 an hour for therapy? Anonymously divulge your secrets and watch a group of improvisers play with your deepest darkest truths onstage. This show is a mix of short-form and long-form improv inspired by your secrets (be they dirty, clean, little or big – don’t let the title pigeonhole you). $6.

Journey of Hope: The Irish in New York, Church of St. Brigid – East Village, 6:30pm – 8pm

This talk will take a multimedia look at the history and culture of the Irish of New York from their immigrant beginnings to the present day. Their journey is reflected in the shared experiences of immigrants from around the world coming to America. The lecture will be given by Tara Rider, the director of Stony Brook University’s international academic programs to both Ireland and England. Free.
