“Selective Perception” is an exhibition of vector illustrations by Claudine Eriksson, Andrea Johansson and Darcy Moore. This will be the female design collective’s third exhibition in New York City. A series of works that demonstrate the multi-faceted meanings of a single word will presented by each designer in the exhibition. Each work calls attention to the diverse associations viewers have with a single word’s visual or written meaning. 3xStudio will be donating 10% of the proceeds from “Selective Perception” to the ACLU. NYC Parks is transforming Central Park into a stage, museum, and art studio for a free day of public art to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its Art in the Parks program.

Thousands of costumed canines will march on Tompkins Square Park for the country’s largest Halloween Costume Parade for dogs. All proceeds go to the N.Y.C. Department of Parks & Recreation for the maintenance and upkeep of the newly restored Tompkins Square Dog Run. $5 suggested donation.

Watch an outdoor performance artist Joiri Minaya. Performers in tropical print body-suits will move through a variety of poses, in response to the site-specific audio narratives emanating from the garments. Complementing the tropical plants and the history of the Monocot Garden, these narratives will focus on human and plant camouflage and hyper-visibility.
