THINGS TO DO
Winter Jam NYC, Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park, 11am – 3pm

FiDi Stop ‘N’ Swap, St. Margaret’s House – Lower Manhattan, 12pm – 3pm
At Stop ‘N’ Swaps, New Yorkers bring items they no longer need and find things that are new to them. Stop ‘N’ Swaps encourage reuse, build community, and reduce the waste NYC sends to landfills. Bring clean, reusable, gently-used portable items such as clothing, housewares, games, books, and toys that you no longer need, and take home something new to you, free! You don’t have to bring something to take something. Free.
Bookmaking Workshop, Greenbelt Nature Center in Blood Root Valley – Staten Island, 4pm – 5:30pm
Learn about the Freshkills Park transformation, see examples of native and invasive plants, and create your very own passport-sized field notebook using paper that’s made from plants at the park. This workshop is part of an ongoing art project called UnCommon Pages, where artist Susan Mills has made paper sheets from an invasive plant found at Freshkills Park called Phragmites, reimagining the plant as a form of recycled art. Free.
