Arsenal Gallery Exhibition Opening: Identity, Arsenal in Central Park, 6pm – 8pm

Identity showcases works in fiber that explore imagery of people of the African Diaspora. Curated by Michelle Bishop of Harlem Needle Arts, the exhibition features pieces by nine artists who use a variety of media including embroidery, soft sculpture, quilt, and mixed media. Free.

The Song Show, The Cobra Club – Brooklyn, 9pm – 11pm

The Song Show is a monthly comedy show based on radio staples from yesteryear. This show’s theme is Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” The show features up and coming NYC comedians and closes out with a set by a local band. Featuring comedy by Ramy Youssef (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Mr. Robot), Emmy Blotnick (Head Writer of The President’s Show, upcoming Comedy Central special) Casey James Salengo (Jimmy Kimmel Live, Comedy Central special), Musical guest Sultry Pines fka Velo, Hosted by Joe Miciak and Michael Kandel. $5.

From watchers of the immensely popular Ted Talks, comes this new lecture series highlighting the life and ideas of dearly departed celebrities.
