New Year’s Day Plunge, Boardwalk at Stillwell Avenue – Brooklyn, 1pm

In spite of freezing temperatures, the Coney Island Polar Bear Club will host its annual New Year’s Day Plunge. Thousands of people are expected to flock to the 114th staging of this event. Swim time is at 1pm but organizers suggest to come early. Event is free for swimmers and onlookers but RSVP is necessary. $25 suggested donation.

Do you love The Bachelor, but have always wanted live commentary by an anthropologist? Of course you have.
