Artist Sophia Dawson invites storyteller Cyrus Aaron to interweave spoken word poetry with her exhibit discussion. While the nation celebrates its lineage of presidents, Dawson and Aaron will explore the narratives of over 20 US political prisoners who have been jailed for their activism in the Black Liberation Movements. “Selective Perception” is an exhibition of vector illustrations by Claudine Eriksson, Andrea Johansson and Darcy Moore. This will be the female design collective’s third exhibition in New York City. A series of works that demonstrate the multi-faceted meanings of a single word will presented by each designer in the exhibition. Each work calls attention to the diverse associations viewers have with a single word’s visual or written meaning. 3xStudio will be donating 10% of the proceeds from “Selective Perception” to the ACLU.
