“Selective Perception” is an exhibition of vector illustrations by Claudine Eriksson, Andrea Johansson and Darcy Moore. This will be the female design collective’s third exhibition in New York City. A series of works that demonstrate the multi-faceted meanings of a single word will presented by each designer in the exhibition. Each work calls attention to the diverse associations viewers have with a single word’s visual or written meaning. 3xStudio will be donating 10% of the proceeds from “Selective Perception” to the ACLU. Learn about the Freshkills Park transformation, see examples of native and invasive plants, and create your very own passport-sized field notebook using paper that’s made from plants at the park. This workshop is part of an ongoing art project called UnCommon Pages, where artist Susan Mills has made paper sheets from an invasive plant found at Freshkills Park called Phragmites, reimagining the plant as a form of recycled art. Cinnamon is the dried bark taken from a number of closely-related tree species. Originating in East Asia, this warming spice has been used throughout the world for centuries.
