Hester Street Fair’s Harvest Day, Intersection of Delancey and Essex Street (LES), 11am – 6pm

Celebrate the changing of the seasons with fall-friendly vendors and seasonal activities like pumpkin painting, apple pies. Five Boroughs Brewing Co.’s IPA will be on tap. This week’s vendors roster include Chokola’s, Gab and Down East Lobstah, Free.

Arts in the Park, Central Park, Oct. 21 (Sat), 12pm – 3pm

NYC Parks is transforming Central Park into a stage, museum, and art studio for a free day of public art to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its Art in the Parks program.

Tompkins Square Park Halloween Dog Parade, Tompkins Square Dog Run (East Village), Oct. 21 (Sat), 12pm – 3pm

Thousands of costumed canines will march on Tompkins Square Park for the country’s largest Halloween Costume Parade for dogs. All proceeds go to the N.Y.C. Department of Parks & Recreation for the maintenance and upkeep of the newly restored Tompkins Square Dog Run. $5 suggested donation.

Howl-een Pooch Parade, Allan Kivlehan Playground (Staten Island), 12pm

There will be treats, a costume contest, obstacle course, and a pet adoption event. Free.

Outdoor Performance: Joiri Minaya “Containers,” Wave Hill (Bronx), 2pm

Watch an outdoor performance artist Joiri Minaya. Performers in tropical print body-suits will move through a variety of poses, in response to the site-specific audio narratives emanating from the garments. Complementing the tropical plants and the history of the Monocot Garden, these narratives will focus on human and plant camouflage and hyper-visibility. Free with admission to the grounds. $8 adults, $4 students and seniors.

Music in the Garden: Ustad Shafaat Khan, Queens Botanical Garden, 3:30pm

Sitar and tabla Maestro Ustad Shafaat Khan will perform a blend of Indian classical and folk music. He will be joined by his fusion group “East Meets West.” $6 for adults, $4 for seniors, students and children over 4.
