Jeff “Tain” Watts: Desert Island Disks, The National Jazz Museum in Harlem, 7pm – 10pm

What is the secret sauce of swing? It’s hard to put into words. Fortunately, the wildly swinging drummer Jeff “Tain” Watts will share eight brilliant discs that illuminate the mystery and edify our souls. Ted Panken hosts as Watts opens the record vaults to reveal the music he can’t live without. $0 – $10.

Astoria Drink and Draw, QED – Queens, 8:30pm – 10pm

On the first Friday and third Tuesdays of every month, Q.E.D. hosts a social drawing event with focus on figure drawing from a live model. Model poses can range from 30 seconds to 20 minutes.No need to be a pro, no shame in drawing stick figures and hand-turkeys. $8 – $10.
