Jezebel will host a live-recording of DirtCast, the pop culture podcast where hosts Madeleine Davies and Megan Reynolds dig deep into the wild ugly world of tabloids and the entertainment industry to discover how exactly the celebrity ecosystem works, all while talking a lot of baseless trash along the way. They will be joined by Aja of RuPaul’s Drag Race. $10.

Stand By Your Band Live!, Union Hall, 702 Union St – Brooklyn, 8pm

Comedians Tom Thakkar and Tommy McNamara talk about the bands that Pitchfork attacks and your friends make fun of. They will have guests who love a band that everyone seems to hate, and together they give that band a fair chance. With special guests Nikki Glaser, Melissa Villaseñor, Sean Donnelly, Anthony DeVito, Christi Chiello, JP McDade, Shalewa Sharpe, Caitlin Peluffo and Martin Urbano. $7 – $10.

Mulchfest, Prospect Park – Brooklyn, 10am – 2pm

Bring your holiday tree to Prospect Park, where it will go through a chipper and transform into environment-friendly mulch. You can take some home for your own yard or garden. Free.
