St. Martin’s Lantern Walk, Prospect Park Bandshell, 62 West Drive – Brooklyn, 5pm – 6:15pm

Every November, the German-speaking community of Brooklyn and beyond meets at dusk for a Lantern Walk through Prospect Park. Children and their families come from all over the New York metro area, equipped with handmade glowing lanterns. After singing the traditional songs, there will be a procession through the park to watch a reenactment of St. Martin on horseback. Donation.

Explore the depths of the Hungarian soul with the Nikolett Pankovits Sextet, featuring bittersweet melodies from Hungary, accompanied by humorous literature pieces presented by Hungarian-American actor Adam Boncz. Free. RSVP.

Fool For Love by Sam Shepard, The Actors Studio, 432 West 44th Street, between 9th and 10th Ave – Midtown, 7pm – 9pm

Fool for Love shows the story of two people who just can’t live without each other whether they like it or not. May is hiding out at an old motel in the Mojave Desert. Eddie, an old flame and childhood friend, finds her there and threatens to drag her back into the life from which she had fled. Reality and dream; truth and lies; past and present mingle in an explosive, emotional experience. Free. RSVP.

Vintage Camera Day, Alice Austen House Museum in Alice Austen Park, 2 Hylan Boulevard – Staten Island, 12pm – 4pm

To celebrate the magic of analog photography and the lure of vintage cameras, the Alice Austen House Museum will provide a series of talks and workshops exploring vintage photography and image-making processes. Take this opportunity to visit a camera doctor; bring your own vintage camera for helpful advice from an expert. Free.
