Hester Street Fair, Corner of Hester and Essex streets – LES, 11am – 6pm

To celebrate small businesses everywhere, Hester Street Fair is hosting its second annual “We Started Here” fair and Lower East Side Block Party. Featuring vendors La Newyorkina, Bodega Rose and Kochin. Free.

German Steuben Parade, Various locations, 12pm – 3pm

The Parade continues to march up Fifth Avenue between 65th Street to 86th Street. The three-hour Parade is filled with German groups wearing their traditional costumes, spectacular floats, marching bands, dancers, clubs, and organizations from across the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Canada. Free.

Truth on Display: An Artist/Curator Talk with Eric Mapp, Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art (Building C) in Snug Harbor Cultural Center – Staten Island, 2pm – 3pm

Truth on Display is a group show which contemplates issues of identity and representation in both public and private spaces. Featuring guest curator Eric Mapp, and artists Jodi Da Real, La Femme Cheri, Erika Lee, Eric Mapp, BE-I Prince, Taiwan Prince, and Debbie Roxx. Artist talk included with $5 gallery admission.
