Grab your tap shoes and hoof on down to the Piano in Bryant Park for a September Tap-A-Long. Featuring tappers Marietta Clark, Rod Ferrone, Megan Haungs, Yuka Kameda, Hank Smith, and Kazu Kumagai. With Kuni Mikami on piano. Free.

Strictly Tango at Washington Square Park, Holley Plaza in Washington Square Park, 6pm – 8pm

Put on your dancing shoes and learn with Strictly Tango NYC Dance School. They bring you “the authentic Buenos Aires Tango feeling.” Come with your partner, your friends or come by yourself and find a new dancing partner. In case of rain, the event will be cancelled. Free.

Four authors who have recently penned illustrated narratives gather to tell their stories during an evening of inspired literary conversation about the graphic novel, its past, present, and future. Join the Bryant Park Reading Room Poetry Series. This week’s program is produced in partnership with Red Hen Press. Featuring poets Blas Falconer, Vievee Francis, Sebastian Matthews, and Jason Schneiderman. Free.

Stargazing, The High Line at 14th Street – Chelsea, 6:45pm – 9:30pm

Head to the High Line for a walk along the park and a chance to take a closer look at the stars. Peer through high-powered telescopes provided by members of the Amateur Astronomers Association of New York to see rare celestial sights. Free.

Herald Square Reading Room, Herald Square, 10am – 5:30pm

Enjoy free use of newspapers and magazines at outdoor Reading Rooms. Located both in Herald Square Park and Park East at One Penn Plaza, Reading Rooms are staffed with a coordinator for recommendations. Free.
