THINGS TO DO

Summer Streets, Various locations, 7am – 1pm

On the first three Saturdays in August between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., nearly seven miles of New York City’s streets are open to the public to play, run, walk, and bike. Enjoy live performances, zip-lining, adaptive basketball games, free fitness classes with Shape Up NYC, art and science workshops, and more along the route from City Hall Park to Central Park.

Hester Street Fair Saturday Market, Corner of Hester and Essex – LES, 11am – 6pm

Come enjoy some music and meals and stroll through the booths. Free.

The Winter’s Tale – South Brooklyn Shakepeare, Washington Park Field in J.J. Byrne Playground – Brooklyn, 8pm – 10pm

Bring a blanket and join the fourth annual summer performances by the South Brooklyn Shakespeare at Washington Park Field. Directed by Elizabeth Sutton-Stone. Free.

Queens Night Market, New York Hall of Science, 6pm – 11:59pm

Take full advantage of the $5 price cap on food — only a handful of dishes will be selling at $6. Performers on the lineup include: DJ Lil Buddy, Fat Boi’s Brass Band, Quantum Split and The Phoenix Within. Free.

Mystery After Dark Tours, Historic Richmond Town, 441 Clarke Avenue – Staten Island, 8pm – 11pm

Afraid of the Dark?  Join a costumed interpreter and venture into a new historic house every night after museum hours. Listen to a mystery, story or legend on a tour lit only by candlelight. $10.
