Hester Street Fair’s Iced Coffee Competition, Corner of Hester and Essex – LES, 11am – 6pm

The Hester Street Fair is rounding up the best local coffee shops and roasters and challenging them to bring out their best iced coffee for the chance to win the audience award. For $10 you get a voting ticket which grants you one vote and a 2-ounce sample of the absolute best cold brew each coffee purveyor has to offer. Free.

Afro Dance Class, Pelham Fritz Recreation Center in Marcus Garvey Park – Harlem, 1:30pm – 3:30pm

The Harlem Dance Club hosts a series of master classes given by professional instructors from Alvin Ailey.  Every Saturday afternoon, a different genre will be highlighted. This week features Afro Dance with Angel Kaba. Free.

The Metropolitan Opera Summer Recital Series, Williamsbridge Oval – Bronx, 3pm – 4:30pm

Gerard Schneider, Gabriella Reyes de Ramírez, and Adrian Timpau perform a program of favorite opera arias and duets. Free.

Hudson Warehouse Shakespeare Workout, Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument in Riverside Park, West 89th Street and Riverside Drive – UWS, 3pm – 5pm
