Hester Street Fair’s Girl Power Fair is back for its third edition with experimental art projects, performances and more. Featuring performances by Jennifer Vanilla, Juliana Huxtable, Venus X and Poster Child. Vendors include Wharf Cat Records, JONESY and Even Keel. Free.

Sambo Afro/ Brazilian Dance Class, Pelham Fritz Recreation Center in Marcus Garvey Park – Harlem, 1:30pm – 3:30pm

The Harlem Dance Club hosts a series of master classes given by professional instructors from Alvin Ailey.  Every Saturday afternoon, a different genre will be highlighted. This week features roots of Samba/ Afro Brazilian dance with Quenia Ribeiro.

Adventures NYC, Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park, (Nearest entrance at 72nd Street and 5th Avenue), – UES, 11am – 4pm

Get ready to paddle, climb, race, and glide at Adventures NYC!  Celebrate the great outdoors with activities such as rock climbing, zip lining, karate lessons and stand-up paddleboarding. Free.

A Night of Jazz & Swing, Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Marcus Garvey Park – Harlem, 5pm – 8pm

Join a night of swing, dance and live jazz! Enjoy dancing with The Harlem Swing Dance Society and Harlem Renaissance Orchestra and listen to the music reminiscent of the Big Band Era. Free.

Revival 2, General Grant National Memorial in Riverside Park, 122nd Street and Riverside Drive – Morningside Heights, 5pm – 8:30pm

Dances For A Variable Population  will present two performances on Grant’s Tomb Plaza. Free.

Queens Night Market, New York Hall of Science, Flushing Meadows Corona Park – Queens, 6pm – 11:59pm

Take full advantage of the $5 price cap on food — only a handful of dishes will be selling at $6. Performers on the lineup include The Wayward Strangers, Human Time Machine, Sandra Kluge and Ashley Keiko. Vendors include Percy’s Jerk Hut, Theobucket Vinatage and DiLena’s Dolcini. Free.

Higher Ground Festival 2018, Anne Loftus Playground in Fort Tryon Park – Inwood, 7pm – 9pm

This event is the peak performance for the Higher Ground Festival. HG will present seven premiering collaborations for 2018. The collaborations are a product of a 2-month long HG Artist Meet & Greet series which connects neighborhood artists of all art disciplines. This year’s HG Premieres Performance will include dance, opera, spoken word, physical theater, live music, fashion and drama. Free.

Stargazing Club: New Moon, Boardwalk at Beach 116th Street in Rockaway Beach and Boardwalk – Queens, 8pm – 9:30pm

View the New Moon through a telescope. Park rangers will be your guides to the solar system, discussing the science, history and folklore of the universe. Astronomy programs feature the use of telescopes and binoculars to observe specific astronomical events on cloud-free nights. Free.

Grow NYC SWAP, Old Stone House in J.J. Byrne Playground, 336 3rd St – Brooklyn, 10am – 3pm

At the Swap, you can exchange clean, reusable, portable items such as clothing, house wares, games, books, and toys. Free.
