Arsenal Gallery Exhibition Opening – 1978: The NYC Parks/New York Times Photo Project, Arsenal in Central Park, 6pm – 8pm

During the New York City newspaper strike from August to November 1978, the Parks Department hired eight New York Times photographers to document the City’s parks. This exhibit features highlights of their 3,000 images. Free.

The Philosophy, Prophesy and Physics of the film “Short Circuit,” Caveat – LES, 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Join Rabbi Dan Ain (Because Jewish), astrophysict David W. Hogg (NYU) and professor Brian Sheppard (Seton Hall Law School) for an in depth review and analysis of John Badham’s 1986 classic “Short Circuit.” This event will include a viewing of certain key scenes for the purpose of deeper explication as well as an interactive and free-wheeling discussion on the religious implications of Artificial Intelligence, the legal ramifications of robot personality and the physical practicality of a story of this nature. $10.
