Around the World – One Acts Set Around the Globe, Theater for the New City – East Village, 8pm – 9:30pm

Theater For the New City presents this one night only special event with one-act plays by Claude Solnik and Craig Pospisil that take you on a trip around the nation and the world. See stories set in Manhattan, New Orleans; Vermont, Aphrodite’s Rock, Cyprus; Rome, Paris and more. Free. RSVP.

Joy and the Good Life: A Community Arts Installation – Opening Reception, Walls-Ortiz Gallery and Center – Harlem, 5:30pm – 7pm

This evolving, multimodal arts installation explores individual and communal understandings of joy and the good life. At the opening reception, you will be able to participate in an abstract art workshop. Learn how to use color, line, and shape to convey the affective experience of joy. The resulting watercolor paintings will be displayed on one wall of the gallery, to which subsequent visitors can add their own abstract artworks on this theme. Free. RSVP.
