Around NYC Today (3/25) Scratch Paper, Retrobits, Police Sketch Game, Style IQ

THINGS TO DO

Scratch Paper, Caveat – LES, 3:30pm – 6pm

Scratch Paper is an open mic for informative comedy, research-inspired storytelling, and charismatic talks. Are you a researcher or science writer who wants to work jokes into your upcoming piece? Are you a stand-up comedian who wants to use history, science, or your other nerdy obsession to fuel your sets? Whether it’s comedy based in research or research with a little something extra, Scratch Paper will help you test out new material that offers audiences exciting insights into the world… before the punchline. Free. RSVP.

Retrobits, QED – Queens, 7pm – 8:30pm

Join comedians Brian McGuinness (Playable Characters Podcast) and TJ Del Reno (Unlimited Lives Radio) as they watch the audience play mostly terrible video games with funny commentary. $5.

Funhouse: Police Sketch Game, The Drawing Center – SoHo, 3:30pm – 4:30pm

Funhouse is an interactive drawing game where the audience helps three exhibitors from the show identify the perpetrator of a crime. The audience will be shown an image of a criminal and will be tasked with giving clues to each artist as they try to sketch a portrait. After the audience shouts out enough details about the criminal’s appearance, the artist will reveal their portrait of the criminal, seeing how it matches up against the original photo.
