BEE, HB Studio – Greenwich Village, Nov. 11 and 12 (Sat. and Sun.), 7:30pm – 9:30pm

BEE is a play about Izat, a young Iranian girl trapped in an abusive marriage in the 1940’s. After years of suffering both physically and mentally at the hands of her spouse, she knows the only way she will survive is if she is able to leave him. In an unprecedented move, her father is able to use his influence to secure a divorce for her. The story intertwines with interviews from immigrants who have had to make the difficult choice of leaving their homeland because their survival was at stake. Free.

Ajax in Iraq, Lee Strasberg Theater and Film  Institute – East Village, 7:30pm – 9pm

Past and present collide in Ellen McLaughlin’s mash-up of Sophocles’ classic tragedy Ajax with the modern-day war in Iraq. The play follows the parallel narratives of Ajax, an ancient Greek military hero, and A.J., a modern female American soldier, both undone by the betrayal of a commanding officer. $10 general admission, $5 for students and alumni.

Party of Two, The Pleasure Chest – UES, 7:30m – 9pm

Vanessa Valerio and Anita Flores are bringing some of New York City’s best storytellers and comedians together to recount their absurd experiences about dating in the modern world.This month’s lineup includes comedians Marcia Belsky, Christian Polanco, Katie Haller and Gianmarco Soresi. Proceeds will go to the Hispanic Federation to help Puerto Rico. $8.

Broadway Trivia, Muchmore’s – Brooklyn, 9pm – 11pm

This event is a fundraiser for the 2018 season of The Brooklyn Theatre Club. Test your knowledge of all things Great White Way and win prizes. Questions will range from the Tony Awards to celebrity stars. There’s also an immersive part to the game. Each team must vote in one member to participate in some acting-related clues alongside the BTC company. $5 with RSVP, $8 without.
