THINGS TO DO

Batty Over Halloween, Astoria Park – Queens, 12pm – 2:30pm

Join the festivities on the Great Lawn at Astoria Park for a day filled with music, puppets, cotton candy, balloon twisting, face painting and munchkin pumpkins.

Halloween Festival, Ocean Breeze Park – Staten Island, 12pm – 5pm

This free, family-friendly event hosts a pumpkin patch, Halloween crafts, music, Halloween inspired contests, and more. Free.

Howl-o-ween, Van Cortlandt Park – Bronx, 12pm – 2pm

Bring your best-dressed dogs to compete at Howl-o-ween. Pre-registration is required. $10 per dog to benefit the dog run.

Annual Dog Run Halloween Party, Washington Square Park – Greenwich Village, 12pm – 2pm

Join dozens of pups and their owners for a day of Halloween fun. Get your dog dressed in their best costume for prizes and treats. Free.

¡CalabazaFest!, RB Youth Center – Brooklyn, 12pm – 4pm

A fun mashup of Day of the Dead, Halloween, and Harvest Fair traditions. The event will feature a fantastic live stage show (in Spanish and English), musical and dance performances and workshops, hands-on pumpkin crafts, and a creative costume contest. Latin music lineup curated by Trans-Pecos featuring Yotoco and Maria Usbeck. There will also be a mini RB Farmers Market selling fresh local produce. Free.

Halloween Costume Contest and Mini Parade, JJ Byrne Playground – Brooklyn, Oct. 29 (Sun), 3pm – 5pm

Mini-parade around the park with members of Halloween marching band, Paprika. Free.

Full Moon Market, Mood Ring – Brooklyn, 4pm – 7pm

Bushwick’s original market of Curiosities and Magic will join new astrology-based bar in Bushwick, Mood Ring, to offer a market of witchcraft and oddities. During the marker there’ll be a live panting tutorial with artist Jackie Lore as well a special halloween performance by Sacred Circle Theater Co. Free.
