Call & Response artist Kiran Chandra presents an interpretive reading of Mark Twain’s controversial 1905 text “The War Prayer.” When Samuel Clemens, better known by his pen name Mark Twain, was a resident in Wave Hill House at the beginning of the 20th century, he built a treehouse on the property. Chandra’s reading commemorates Twain’s tree structure and the writing he created at Wave Hill. Free with admission to the grounds. $8 for adults, $4 for children and seniors.

Join a night of swing to celebrate the Harvest Moon with the great pianist Danny Mixon and his band, featuring Antoinette Montague on vocals.

In Illo Tempore Vignettes IV, Green Acres Community Garden (Brooklyn), 7pm – 8:30pm

In Illo Tempore Vignettes is a performance of bodies suspended in time, revealing the echoes of memory, alienation, and exile. The performers parade through relentless streams of invisible stimuli in a voyage between presence and absence. The piece addresses the innumerable stories of the exiled, the ones that are visible and the ones that take place in a vacuum.
