DIY to a Career in Comics, Butler Library – Columbia University (UWS), 6pm-8pm

Zep, a comics artist in Europe, presents his debut graphic novel in English, A Story of Men. He will be joined by French compatriot Pénélope Bagieu (California Dreamin’) and homegrown comics artist Julia Wertz (NYC, Tenements, Towers, and Trash). Moderated by Terence Irvins.

Nasty Women, Celeste Auditorium – NYPL (Bryant Park), 6:30pm

The new essay collection Nasty Women: Feminism, Resistance, and Revolution in Trump’s America, features original contributions from 23 leading feminist writers. Its co-editors and some of its contributors come to the New York Public Library to discuss this landmark new book. This includes Guardian US columnist and Marie Claire contributing editor Jessica Valenti, VICE columnist Meredith Talusan and former Mic Editorial Director of Identities Samhita Mukhopadhyay. Free.
